Last post for my blog! Wow time went by so fast and I can say that I am so excited to be done with my Junior year and this class. I can say Journalism was not my favorite class, but it was fun while it lasted. In journalism we mostly did writings. We did editorial reviews, letter of action, profiles, and of course we worked on our blog about twice a week. We also did an activity that is called "Fishbowl", but I really didn't like it, just because I hate talking. My favorite thing that we did in this class was working on our blogs. Why? Well because every Mondays and Fridays we had the chance to write a new blog, and as you can see my topic is music. I love music. Writing about something you love never gets boring. I loved talking about the new things I found about artist or new songs or awards. I've mentioned this in my very first blog that I listen to music everyday non stop. Music is just amazing and I'm glad I had that topic because it was really easy for me to write about. I knew so much about it from the start.

In Journalism I've stayed with around a B average. I think that's pretty good but I probably could have gotten an A. I slacked on some assignments. I would usually always wait till last minute to finish an assignment that was due the next day, so I always rushed into it and it made me not notice mistakes. I also would forget to do or just not take time to do it so I would turn it in late, that's what I lost the most points on.  That's what I could have worked on to get a better grade. I also could have interacted more with the conversations with our topics, especially because it was such a small class. If I were to have the chance to take this class again I probably wouldn't know if I wanted to or not. I would definitely make other blogs about other topics I'd love talking about, that's for sure. IHeartRadio Music Awards just passed on May 1st, 2014. The first tropy that was announced was given to Rihanna. She won this award for Hip-Hop/R&B Song of the Year, the song was Pour It Up. One of my favorite songs, love it. Rihanna was also rewared a trophy for Artist of the year and best fan army. She actially was late, stuck in traffic, but made it into and hour of the show, she also did give a couple speeches thanking her fans. The other artist who where elected for this category were,

The next award that was given out was for best new artist, this one was my favorite. The winner was Lorde. I love her songs and she is littertally my favorite new artist. The other new artist that were in this category were

I'm surprised that I have not talked about Miley Cyrus yet on my blog, she has been out here lately doing who knows what. In my opinion Miley Cyrus has changed so much and it's weird because when I was little I always watched Hannah Montana and to see her all good back then and how she is now, it's like wow! Don't get me wrong, I still love her but maybe some of the things she does need to go. Her song are amazing like Wrecking Ball, but the video is something else. I don't think it was necessary for her to be on a ball naked! That's just my opinion. I still think she's really pretty as well, but she did look better with her long hair. Well you can say people do change, and if that's who she wants to be, I cant judge her. She's living her life the way she wants to. I can say I love how many people have doubted and judged her for the new her, but yet she still is doing er and not letting no one get in her way. Recently one of her tours got canceled. The "BANGERZ" tour as they said. They say she was forced to cancell these shows. She came down with an allergic reaction. Of course there are always rumors, but these rumors are saying that she overdosed on drugs. Rumors these days. On this website they said "The singer has denied that her illness is the result of anything other than a severe allergic reaction."The singer has denied that her illness is the result of anything other than a severe allergic reaction." Nothing else is really out there about her being in the hospital, but hope she gets better!

If you are a fan of Bruno Mars and you live in Grand Rapids, it's the perfect chance for you to spend some money and get tickets to his concert! His concert will take place at the Van Andel Arena on June 17. As I was online looking at tickets, some came up to $293. WOW that's a lot, but of course those seats would have been closer to the stage.Check this out also Aloe Blacc will also be with Bruno Mars. See I'm not the biggest fan of Bruno Mars, I'm not saying I don't like his music, because I do but just a couple songs. I am a fan of Aloe Blacc though, and there is one song that I'm obsessed with which is called 'The Man", you have to listen to it. I wonder if many people are wondering what songs he's going to sing. I'm guessing he'll probably come out with some of his new songs or some songs that are very popular. My favorite song of his is "When I Was Your Man". That's probably the only song I know by heart and love, and probably the only song that I remember the name of at the top of my head. I know some people who are crazy about Bruno Mars, it's crazy, but I'm not sure of Aloe Blacc because I just heard about him and this song a couple months ago. Hopefully I can get back to you guys on how the concert went and whats songs did her perform. Yesterday on April 13, was the MTV Awards red carpet 2014, which they say is one of the most fun events to watch especially if you are a fan of fashion and celebrities . On the MTV Awards you got to watch  all the big celebrities come out to show off their outfits that they prepared just for this event and you got to see how good they looked and also it was exciting to watch because you got to see witch celebrities where under each category to vote off and you got to see witch one of those celebrities won the award. This was the Movie awards so it didn't have much music performances but there was a perfomance and there was some singer artist.  One suprising thing that stood out to me was Nicki Minaj. If you don't know who Nicki Minaj is, she is a famous singer/rapper of course. She likes to dress really crazy, with different colored hair, different haricuts, and crazy outfits. Many people loved her like that but when she came out last night she was a different person, dressed all black with one solid color and it didn't look bad at all. As you can see below.


  







A great performance that was on last night was Eminem and Rihanna. Rihanna & Eminem Wow With ‘The Monster’ Performance. In my opinion I liked it, they both did a great job and they got the crown very hype and they were all into it. I was waiting for this performance to go on before I even decided to turn my tv off. Eminem and Rihanna did there thing up on stage and it was a great performance.

Many people see music as life. Music can be life to a lot of people. For an examples music artists, they deal with music their whole lives because that's their job. The cool thing about it is that they do that as a job because it's something they love doing and to do something you love as a job must be wonderful.

In todays generation it seems like whatever teenagers see whats going on they decide to follow. Lets say if you see all teens listening to a certain type of music, most likley you will listen to the same so you wont be an outcast. Am I right? As I would assume the type of genre that teens listen to the most is Hip-Hop and rap. It seems to grab many teenagers attention. As I seen on a website pop was actually to become second in popular music in 2013. Many websites tell me that rock and country are also very popular for teenagers latley. The music my friends and I listen to the most is rap and hip-hop,but it could be different for many other people.

The song Layla by Derek and the Dominos turned out to be one of the greatest rock songs. It was their 13th track that came out in December of 1970. "Layla" was a song featuring an unmistakable guitar figure, played buy Eric Clapton and Duane Allman., This was inspired by Clapton's then-unrequited love for Pattie Boyd, who was the wife of a musician George Harrison.

Summer Concerts!

Who doesn't love summer concerts? I know many people that go to concerts in the summer, and I know som people that go in concerts throughout the year, but I have never been to one. I do really want to go to one, hopefully one day because of how fun they look and seeing your favorite singers or rappers perform sounds amazing. Thy have some concerts in Michigan where it's called "Party in the Park". I sadly did not go but I know plenty of my friends that had went and had told me it was pretty amazing and fun. Last year in 2013 the concert took place at the fifth third bank ballpark. The concert was on July 17 and at 6:00 p.m. The tickets cost $30 but you were also able to get them for sale 2 months before the concert at 10:00 a.m. The main singer that had performed was Jason Derulo. Check this out , in 2011 8,000 people went to see LMFAO and Mike Posner.  It's seems great and something adventurous to do in the summer, hopefully it comes again the year!

 

As I said in my first post, I am hispanic, and there are many different types of music. One of my favorite dances is called bachata. The basic step is two steps so it is very easy to learn, and then you just add your own movement to it. Some of my favorite artists are Aventura, Prince Royce and Romeo Santos, great artists! Your're not going to believe it, Romeo Santos came out with a new song "Odio" ft Drake! I fell in love with the song! Drake also has a part in the song where he sings in spanish. It is funny that he came out with this song because in one of his other songs called "The Motto" there is a part where he says "These spanish girls love me like i'm Aventura". As I said before, Aventura is a spanish artist. But you should really go check out this song, it's a good one.

My number one favorite girl artist is Beyonce. Beyonce has such an amazing voice! I love listening to her song "Listen". That is one of my favorite songs that she has out, I could play that song on repeat. I remember for video production, my two friends and I had to make a music video and we chose to do her song "Single Ladies" and oh boy was it hard to learn all the choreography for that music video. We ended up not using all her chorography but it still came out good. I reccomend you to listen to her songs. She has an amzing voice, she willl inspire you and if you are a singer, try singing some of her songs. It might be a challenge at first but it will help you.




 

I am also into country music. Not a lot but i do have some favorite artist. I actually have only two Rascal Flatss and Hunter Hayes.

There is one Certain song that I absolutley love from Hunter Hayes, The song is called Wanted. It's just a song that makes you relax and it's just a wonderful song. Check it ou sometime!

Now on Rascal Flatts there are many songs that I love. But I got to say my favorite one is God Bless The Broken Road. It's just a song that I love listening to daily, it talks about things you would want to hear. So check it out.

   For the start of this I want to introduce you to my favorite singers/rappers "Drake." He is one of my favorite artist that I listen to mostly everday. Music is the number one thing that I listen to when I wake up, while I'm cleaning, taking a shower, eating, and it's the last thing I do before I go to sleep.
